Kay Elliott

Mother and Child, Divided

Kay Elliott are proud sponsors of TAMED; an exhibition which brings Damien Hirst’s controversial installation to the Westcountry – having only been previously exhibited in London, Venice, Tokyo and Oslo

The 6.5 tonne installation can be seen as part of a free summer exhibition at the Spanish Barn, Torquay, South Devon. The piece, created for the 1993 Venice Biennial, earned Hirst the Turner prize in 1995. Since then it has only been publically displayed at London’s Tate, Oslo’s Museum of Modern Art and Tokyo’s Mori Arts Museum.

The Grade I listed medieval tithe barn will also be the first non-gallery space the piece has been exhibited.

The free exhibition includes works by Heather Jansch, Paul Coldwell, Richard Long, Mike Nelson and Mariele Neudecker opens on 6 July and runs until 30 August inclusive.
