Kay Elliott Go Under
Down under, as our first project in Australia opened to the public over the weekend.
Standing at 309m tall, the gold coloured tower celebrated it’s 30th birthday this year. She was starting to show signs of her age so new owners Merlin Entertainments under took a AUS$3.5million refurbishment to bring the tower up to date and into line with the global ‘Eye’ brand. There was more than just a lick of paint applied as a new 4D cinema was also installed in order to showcase the first 4D film fully filmed in Australia. A 2D preview can be seen below but this doesn’t feature any of the extra excitement that the special effects of wind, smoke, water spray and smells add. Despite the complications of constructing a project on the other side of the world Kay Elliott look forward to further opportunities of working in Australia.
