Luxury Estuary Homes Achieve Planning Approval in Salcombe

Kay Elliott Architects have secured on behalf of their client, a detailed planning approval for 6 high specification homes with spectacular views over the Salcombe Estuary.

Associate Jan Tribble, who presented the scheme at the development committee, said “we believe the approval is testament to the hard work from the team involved, detailed negotiations with the local authority and a clear design concept which takes advantage of the site’s characteristics and responds to its context . The proposal is a contemporary interpretation of the traditional South Devon villa form with additional accommodation sensitively integrated within landscaped terraces, stepping down the site. The twin gabled building, enhances the character of this unique coastal area whilst minimising impact using the slope of the site. Kay Elliott’s specialist use of Building Information Modelling (BIM) has allowed us to interrogate the site three dimensionally to unlock its full potential and add value for the client”.

Salcombe is now Britain’s most expensive seaside town, overtaking Sandbanks in Dorset and the town is the most exclusive of destinations for homes. Kay Elliott specialise in waterfront development recently winning the Michelmore’s ‘Building of the Year’ award for Abbey Sands in Torquay.
