The brief was for a new 60 bed Residential Care Home including communal facilities and service provision.

Located on a south-west facing slope, the setting takes advantage of the panoramic views. The principal elements are the spine building, containing function & service areas, and ‘fingers’ arrayed of it, containing the bedrooms arranged in clusters on two levels.

The proposals support efficient operation & management, and also optimising the usage of natural ventilation & daylight. The layout creates a series of individual 'garden' spaces which will contribute to enhancing the wellbeing of residents and staff.
