Derek is the Managing Director of Kay Elliott. The practice has grown steadily and is an employee owned international design studio with nearly 40 staff operating in 24 countries on 4 continents. Derek maintains a special interest in the attractions and leisure sector work especially our international projects. Derek is an intuitive designer and always brings original thinking to a design proposition.
His extensive knowledge of design, the development and leisure industries give him a particular insight into the opportunities and the qualities which enable projects to flourish. His wide ranging portfolio of work and the wealth of experience which spans from waterfront regeneration to zoological exhibit, from masterplanning to the finishing detail, are testament to his approach and the energy he invests in the practice.
Creativity, fun and dedication define what we do as a practice. Few practices give designers at every level the opportunity to work on such diverse and interesting projects. The nature and variety of our work demands imagination and initiative.
