John is a chartered Architect with over 15 years of practice experience. He joined Kay Elliott in June 2014 and has since been involved with a large scale hotel and residential scheme in Torquay, a luxury hotel and spa in Salcombe as well as an extensive redevelopment of Paignton Zoo.
Specialising in hotel design and residential-led mixed use projects, John also has further experience in student accommodation, educational, church buildings and visitor attractions. He worked on the hotels team at EPR Architects for over 8 years on a number of large scale landmark hotel projects.
John’s experience in hotel design includes the 600 bed 5 star Sofitel at Heathrow Terminal 5, the Dorchester Collection’s country house hotel at Coworth Park and the Mondrian London on the South Bank. He also has broad experience in the residential sector, from co-ordinating prominent mixed-use resi-led projects in Birmingham to delivering high-end private houses in central London.
John’s strengths are in project delivery & collaboration, co-ordinating projects from early design stages through construction to final handover, and in drawing on his extensive technical knowledge to develop solutions for complex design challenges.
